The PSEJATC, in cooperation with the Puget Sound Chapter NECA and IBEW Local 46, and with funding from SkillUp Washington, established a veterans apprenticeship program called V.I.C.E. (Veterans in Construction Electrical). The V.I.C.E. program is designed to assist military veterans who possess an aptitude in the electrical industry to gain employment and career opportunities. It is a 560 hour classroom-based training program. In just 14 weeks students complete their first year of related supplemental instruction for the IBEW/NECA registered apprenticeship for Inside Wiremen. Most are dispatched to their first jobs within a couple of weeks after completing the V.I.C.E. classroom program.
